Reunion was once again held at Peter Lauffer's Barn. As most of you know, this is a special meeting place for the families of Christian Lauffer Sr.., The Pioneer. Peter's barn had to be removed to make way for a development. The barn was carefully dismantled by Amish carpenters and the timbers were moved to the site of the present building. This building was designed and built around the barn timbers to realize conservation of natural materials, and to make use of the aged and well persevered barn timber.
We once again used enjoyed the hard work the Perter Lauffer put into his barn. It is an honor to gather with our vast family under the protection of one of Christian's great grandchildren's contributions to the family heritage. I am a bit biased since Peter is my great grandfather. I was fortunate to have visited Peter's home and barn during one of my visits from California. JRL
Began at 10:00AM
We began the gathering of the clan at 10:00AM. Many arrived early to get "logged in". We asked everyone to be sure to look up their family tree to see which of Christian's children your line is from. There were fewer in attendance this year but there was a good exchange of history and people had a chance to meet other family members.
Mixing with family
There were folks who came in for the first time and those who just want to say Hi. Everyone took the time to meet and talk with others. Even though some are distant cousin relationships, we are all family and we need to get to know each other.
Informal Dinner
We had a great informal dinner on Saturday evening prior to the Reunion. This was a big success and we are looking to do this again this year.
